Interconnect-programma dringt kosten terug en verbetert prestaties

Akamai Technologies, wereldwijd marktleider in content delivery network-diensten (CDN), gaat samenwerken met het Google Cloud Platform als onderdeel van het Google Interconnect-programma. Dankzij deze samenwerking zullen de kosten voor hosting en bandbreedte omlaag gaan waarbij de klanten van Akamai tevens profiteren van verbeterde prestaties op het Google Cloud Platform.

Akamai Technologies, Inc., the global leader in content delivery network (CDN) services, today announced the company is collaborating with Google Cloud Platform as part of the Google Interconnect Program. Akamai’s participation is designed to reduce hosting and egress costs and improve performance for Akamai customers taking advantage of Google Cloud Platform.
Akamai’s participation as a Google Cloud Platform CDN Interconnect Provider is intended to ensure that the Google Cloud Platform serves all in region traffic destined for the Akamai Intelligent Platform™ via a direct interconnect. Customers are expected to benefit from performance improvements and save up to 66 percent on Google Cloud Platform egress costs.
“As more and more enterprises come to rely on cloud-based computing and storage resources to drive their businesses, it’s critically important that performance is maximized and cost effectiveness is maintained,” explained Bill Wheaton, executive vice president and general manager, Media Products Division, Akamai. “As the operator of the world’s largest distributed CDN platform, we’re collaborating with Google Cloud Platform to ensure that our joint customers can pass traffic directly from Google Cloud Platform to the Akamai CDN, empowering them to take full advantage of their cloud investments.”
